If you had acne and don’t have any acne marks or scarring you were very lucky. Acne scarring happens very easily and it happens to almost everyone who gets acne. Most are very small marks or scars and are mostly unnoticeable but some people who’ve had severe acne can have many acne marks or scars that detract from their appearance and make the feel self conscious.
Because of acne marks and scarrings affects on a persons psyche it’s much better to prevent the acne so you don’t get the marks and scarring. It’s hard enough to have the acne without having to worry about marks and such. You’ve probably heard the phrase “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” That’s definitely true of acne. You may have also heard the phrase “You can pay me now or you can pay me later.” Paying to prevent acne marks is much smarter than paying big bucks to get rid of them later.
In case you didn’t know a lot of acne is caused by raging hormones and some is caused by genetics. If both your parents had acne as teens it’s likely you will have acne too. Some people believe you can keep acne from happening by eating a proper diet and drinking lots of water. Check around for diets to get rid of or prevent acne and see if they work for you. Better to give up some foods than to have acne and the marks and scars that go with it.
The absolute worst thing you can do is squeeze your pimples or zits. Not only might it spread the bacteria but you may also make the acne marks worse plus the possibility of having some nasty scars. Leave your zits alone and you’ll be better off in the long run. Always remember that your acne will clear up but if you squeeze and pinch you might cause acne scars that will never go away without help. Sure, you look better for the night or even a couple of days but the scars will be life long and thousands of nights. Remember that when you’re tempted to squeeze.
There are many different types of acne marks and scars. Rolling scars, ice pick scars, keloid and hypertrophic and some are also called boxcar scars. However it doesn’t make much difference what you call the acne marks, it’s still easier to prevent them than it is to get them to go away.

The marks and scars are caused by the bodies response to the pimples and zits. It’s best to treat the acne early to prevent the scars and acne marks so you look your best at all times.
